best practices
The reference photos informs a lot of how your home portrait turns out. Here’s a few tips to help you get the most out of the photos you submit.
Feel free to email me if you have further questions at hello@paigerittersbacher.com
My biggest tip is to acquire photos from a real estate website, like Zillow or Redfin. These are usually taken by a professional photographer and can be bright, vibrant, and high-quality. Even if the house isn’t an active listing, you can usually find the last time it was listed on those websites.
If that’s not possible, scroll through your phone and see if you can find any photos you’ve taken in the past. You may have some from hanging christmas lights, halloween decorations, or after a landscaping project.
You can always email me several pictures if you have a photo of the full house, but would like it modified. Possible modifications could be: changing the season, removing a vehicle in the driveway, or adding foliage that was included in another photo.
If you need to take a new photo, here are some photography tips:
Take your photo on a clear, sunny day
You may need to cross the street in order to include your landscaping
Move any vehicles blocking important features of your home
Clean off the camera on your phone incase it’s been smudged
Portraits tend to be more dynamic when taken at an angle, where you can partially one side of the house. You can also take straight on if you’d prefer. Refer to the photos below to decide your preference.
